Design DNA

Cream paper background with a classic text serif for headings and body, paired with small uppercase monospace labels and outlined mono buttons. Hero is a blue-grey photo of starling murmurations overlaid with thin tracking brackets like a targeting HUD. A large olive-brown rounded panel frames a dark video portrait and essay teaser. Field reports are beige rounded cards with dates and categories in mono, a two-column text list, and a dark aerial forest photo footer with newsletter input and office addresses in mono.

Worth borrowing

Overlay thin HUD brackets and connector lines on nature photography to suggest analysis without showing UI.
Pair a bookish serif with tiny uppercase monospace metadata for a serious, research-lab tone.
Use a full-bleed aerial photo as the footer background with addresses set in mono.
