Design DNA

Warm newsprint grey-beige #CFC5BA background with near-black ink. A tall condensed serif display face in huge reversed boxes ('MIRANDA', 'WEBSITE', 'ARTISAN') and stacked headlines, with a small serif for body and drop caps. Columns, rules and boxed stamps mimic a broadsheet front page; illustrated portraits in brown tones fill image cells. An awards count row, dashed testimonial cards, project teasers and an 'email me' ticker footer continue the paper metaphor.

Worth borrowing

Build the home page as a broadsheet front page: masthead, ruled columns, drop caps and boxed headlines.
Reverse key words out of solid black boxes in condensed type as section anchors.
A postage-stamp style badge as a small decorative accent in a print layout.
