Design DNA

Template: warm stone palette (#F2EFE9 paper, #1C1A17 ink, clay and oat photography) with a high-contrast display serif whose second line drops into italic, set against a small-caps sans eyebrow prefixed by an em dash. Magazine grid: asymmetric image blocks of three different scales per band, hairline rules separating numbered principles with dotted leaders, and full-bleed black bands carrying pull quotes. Imagery is art-directed still life - linen, clay, raking shadow, a hand on stone - never stock interiors. Signature: the numbered manifesto list with rules and the closing italic 'Objects that outlast their maker' dark band.

Worth borrowing

Break a display headline across two lines and set only the second in italic serif to make a two-word phrase feel authored.
Number a manifesto as a ruled list with dotted leaders instead of icon cards.
Alternate three image scales (full bleed, half column, postcard) inside one band to build magazine rhythm.
