Design DNA

Template: cream canvas (#EFE6D6) with rust (#B8431E), deep maroon (#7A1407) and near-black brown (#2A140C) as flat surfaces. A tight medium-weight grotesk with negative tracking for all headlines. Full-bleed photo hero of a dartboard with the lead article title centred in white. 'Pick a lane' introduces a 3x2 grid of solid-colour category tiles (Travel, Culture, Design, Ideas, Sports, Food) with a label, a tiny outline button and a description pinned to the bottom. A founder quote over a darkened photo, two-column article cards with a cream text box overlaid on each photo, a newsletter band, and a maroon footer with a huge two-tone 'commonplace' wordmark.

Worth borrowing

Present blog categories as flat solid-colour tiles in three related earth tones instead of photo cards.
Overlay each article card's title and meta in a cream box on the top of its photo.
Set the footer wordmark half in a dark and half in a light shade of the same hue.
